CONFLICT OF INTEREST & CONFIDENTIALITY

At CDL Group of Companies we pride ourselves in employing the most respectful employees. With that said we still need to state our conflict of interest and confidentiality policy.

Employment Classificaton

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION

1

EXEMPT

Exempt employees are paid on a salaried basis.

2

NONEXEMPT

​Nonexempt employees are paid on an hourly basis.

REGULAR, FULL-TIME

Employees who are not in temporary status and work a minimum of 30 hours a week.

Employment at Will

 

CDL Electric Co., Inc. is an at-will employer, meaning either the Company or the employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause.

Employees who are no in temporary status and work fewer than 30 hours a week.

Employees who are here for a limited duration and work a minimum of 30 hours a week.

Work & Pay

WORK SCHEDULE

Unless otherwise specified

WORK WEEK:

Monday 12 am - Sunday 11:59 pm

 

OFFICE HOURS:

Monday - Friday

8 am - 5 pm

BREAKS:

up to 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Two 15 minute paid breaks

TIME RECORDS

Timesheets are completed thru the UKG system. Time sheets must be completed daily to ensure your time worked is accurate. Timesheets are submitted for approval Mondays at 7:00 am. 

OVERTIME

Nonexempt employees will be paid

overtime compensation at the rate of one and one half their regular rate of pay for all hours over 40 actually worked in a single workweek. Paid leave, such as holiday, vacation, sick, bereavement time, and jury duty does not apply toward work time.

PAYCHECKS

CDL’s pay period for all employees is weekly on Friday. If pay day falls on a federal holiday, employees will receive their paycheck on the preceding workday.

Workplace safety is our number one priority. We have a few policies in place to ensure can cultivate the safety culture throughout the company.

Drug & Alcohol

DRUG &
ALCOHOL

CDL Electric conducts random drug and alcohol tests. All employees are eligible for random drug and alcohol testing. A positive result can lead to job termination. 

Tobacco

There are designated smoking breaks, along with designated smoke areas. You are required to use spittoons or approved containers. Don't spit on the floor, trash cans, or sidewalks. Don't smoke in personal or company vehicle while in the course of business. If you have questions reach out to your manager or Human Resources.

Workplace Violence

WORKPLACE VIOLENCE

It's not worth it. Don't fight physically or verbally. Don't bring weapons to work and we have the right to search you if we deem it necessary. This is a fireable offense and you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Commitment to Safety

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

At CDL Group of Companies we want all our employees to go home at night the same way they came in. We have some of the highest safety policies in the industry. However, if you do get hurt notify your manager immediately and seek proper emergency care. Report ALL injuries and accidents and document all accidents with photos and written statements. Failure to report could lead to termination.

Fleet Vehicles

FLEET VEHICLES

 Here are a few rules. Don't text and drive or speed, basically follow the rules of the road. Each vehicle has GPS tracking software in case of emergency and to make sure rules are being followed.

Trainings

 TRAININGS

All CDL Group of Companies employees are expected to complete safety training and obtain other certifications as necessary. The company provides these trainings please contact your supervisor for details.

Injuries

INJURIES

All injuries need to be reported to your manager. If they are on the clock, document injuries and provide a written statement. If you are kept from work due to an injury a work-release, from a health care professional, will need to be provided to Human Resources prior to returning to work. If you need to take a leave of absence, contact Human Resources.

HOLIDAY

Employees are eligible for holiday pay if they are Full-Time and have been with the company for 60 days.

​

New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

2

VACATION

During 1st Year: 8 hours every 90 Days

1st Year: 40 hours

2-4 Years: 80 hours

5+ Years: 120 hours

 

Give 4 weeks advanced notice. 

Carry over up to 240 hours.

SICK LEAVE

Sick days are awarded after 60 days of employment on a monthly basis. Four (4) hours are awarded for each calendar month worked. Eighty (80) hours of sick time can be carried. Sick time cannot be cashed out.

FMLA

BEREAVEMENT

Employees who are here for more than 60 days are eligible for 3 days of paid bereavement leave.

JURY DUTY

Please present any summons to jury duty to your manager and you will be paid for your time.

Benefits & Health-CDL Direct Care Clinic

HEALTH AND BENEFITS

Your benefits are an important part of your overall compensation. CDL Electric is pleased to offer a comprehensive array of valuable benefits to protect your health, your family and your way of life.

                          Eligibility 
You are eligible for benefits if you work 30 or more hours per week. You may also enroll your eligible family members under certain plans you choose for yourself. Eligible family members include: 


â–ª    Your legally married spouse

â–ª    Your children who are your biological   

     children, stepchildren, adopted children 

     or children for whom you have legal   

     custody (age restrictions may apply).

     Disabled children age 26 or older who

     meet certain criteria may continue on

     your health coverage.

                       Choose Carefully 
Due to IRS regulations, you cannot change your elections until the next annual Open Enrollment period, unless you have a qualified life event during the year. Following are examples of the most common qualified life events:  

â–ª    Marriage or divorce
â–ª    Birth or adoption of a child
â–ª    Child reaching the maximum age limit
â–ª    Death of a spouse or child
â–ª    You lose coverage under your spouse’s plan
â–ª    You gain access to state coverage under Medicaid

      or CHIP

                            When Coverage Begins  

 You must complete the enrollment process within 30 days of your date of hire. If you enroll on time, coverage is effective on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
If you fail to enroll on time, you will NOT have benefits coverage (except for company-paid benefits).

                                Making Changes 
To make changes to your benefit elections, you must contact Human Resources within 30 days of the qualified life event (including newborns). Be prepared to show documentation of the event such as a marriage license, birth certificate or a divorce decree. If changes are not submitted on time, you must wait until the next Open Enrollment period to make your election changes.

CDL Electric is excited to announce the introduction of an Off-Site Health Clinic. This Health Clinic is located at the Watco offices in Pittsburg. The clinic will be available to employees and their dependents as long as they are enrolled in the CDL Blue Cross Blue Shield company health plan.

This will offer employees several benefits including:

  •    FREE access to a Physician

  •    FREE short term generic medications (limitations apply)

  •     NO-COPAYS

  •     ABILITY to schedule doctors' visits during working hours without the loss of sick time.
